Robin Hennigar was inducted into the Christmas Tree Wall of Fame on June 7th 2023.
Noted as one of the early pioneers in the Nova Scotia tree industry, Robin began in 1928 with two carloads of Christmas trees in New York city. The following year was the year which those the business would like to forget- 1929. While in New York with forty carloads, he had to borrow five hundred dollars in order to get home and begin anew.
When asked as to his future plans,he simply said, “I’ll find my money where I lost it”, and indeed he did. In 1948 he earned the title of Christmas Tree King, being the largest individual shipper to the U.S.A. with nearly three hundred carloads!
