Wall of Fame Inductees

Mike and Dianne Falkenham

Mike and Dianne Falkenham were inducted into the Christmas Tree Wall of Fame on October 3rd 2009. Interestingly, Mike and Diane began growing Christmas trees prior to combining their efforts as a couple in 1966. Northwest, just outside of Lunenburg town, is home for these two; and the Nova Scotia Christmas Tree industry can be very thankful as together they have been instrumental in the development and success of the Lunenburg County Christmas Tree Producers Association. Mike is a Past President and a member since the inaugural first full year of 1967.

Mike is also vice-president of the Lunenburg Balsam Fir Cooperative, and a founding member of this innovative marketing group since its inception in 1994.

Dianne has been a member of the LCCTPA for over 30 years and has served as a director of the Lunenburg Association. Key industry organizers and workers, the Falkenham’s have served on numerous committees, including the South Shore Exhibition Christmas tree display and competitions, the Christmas in August Conference, maintenance of the Suffernsville Demonstration Tree Lot, and Field Day and Training seminars. In 1978 Mike and Diane formed Tannenbaum Enterprises to provide industry supplies to growers, later setting up Falkenham Wreaths and Crafts.

In 1994 recognition was received as Regional Woodlot Owners of the Year from the Department of Natural Resources.
