Wall of Fame Inductee

Bruce R. McKean

Bruce McKean was inducted into the Christmas Tree Wall of Fame on July 28th 2004.

A charter member of the Lunenburg County Christmas Tree Producers Association in 1966, first served as president from 1979 to 1984, a five year term, and the longest such ever served by any President for the Association. Bruce also actively served on the LCCTPA board from 1973 to 1984, and for many years acted as an Association Representative to the Christmas Tree Council of Nova Scotia.

Bruce started growing Christmas trees in 1962, and he actively continued for 42 years. Bruce resided in Pinehurst, with his lovely wife Margaret, who also supported the association in a great many quiet ways. They were married for 60 years at the time of induction.

The Lunenburg County Christmas Tree Producers’ Association recognized Bruce in 2004 by also naming him as an Honorary Life Member. Bruce was an active member of the organizing committee for both International Christmas In August Conventions in 1987 and 1999.

Bruce was a definitive industry builder.
